problem with pound sign in reports

Hi everyone,

I am having a problem with reports. I hope you can
help.

Instead of just "£", which I want 

I get an "A" with a "^" above it, then "£" (A^£).

Any ideas how I can sort out this format.

I am running Gnucash 1.8.12 on Ubuntu 6.06 LTS - the
Dapper Drake - released in June 2006.
