Can't delete a transaction

I think it should work on any part of the line.

I have never met the problem nor am I a GC developer, but I can think of 
a couple of things that you could try if you have time on your hands.

1) Start a new "virgin" file, create a transaction and then delete it. 
Then you know that deletion in general works. If it does not, please 
tell us.
2) Start a new file, fill it with a minimum of data that you suspect 
will cause problems, like import one transaction. Search for the 
smallest file that exhibits the problem.
3) Then start yet another file and fill it with the same data as in 2) 
by entering transactions manually.
4) Compare the (gunzipped) files from 2) and 3).

You might want to share them with the list.
