Hang on startup

Thanks to this list I've got Gnucash installed and working on my mac. Well
when I say working it did for a while, it now refuses to load. When I try to
run the application the splash screen appears and hangs there. The text at
the bottom says 'loading data'. I assume that the data I've entered so far
has been corrupted but I'm not sure what to remove to clear this problem.
Can anybody help?
