New installation question on GnuCash 2.0.4

Hi,

Please make sure you CC gnucash-user in all your replies.

If you're running as root (note: you shouldn't do that!) then
the error means that gnucash couldn't write into the directory.
The question is:  why not?  What's keeping you from writing
into /root?  Maybe SELinux is blocking you?

Try running gnucash as non-root?
