Mixed-currency transactions broken in Gnucash 2?

Eek.

Maybe I've just been lucky in the past, then (or maybe I never did a 
split transaction, though I thought I did). In fact, the way GC handled 
multiple currencies was one of the things that really impressed me in 
the early days of using GnuCash - I was dreading trying to do stuff 
across currencies but then it "just worked" and I thought "cool, that 
was so easy and seamless"!

Thanks for the pointer.  Maybe as a workaround I can split it into 2 
simple transactions.
