Cap gain split recording process from gnucash guide no longer valid?

I've found that I have to specifically enter 0 in each of the shares  
and price columns (can't leave them blank, even though they'll turn  
blank after you enter 0) in order for the split to work correctly. I  
use the fink versions, so my gnome pieces are probably several  
versions older than yours.
