advanced portfolio and liquidated stock accounts

The Options dialog of the Advanced Portfolio report contains an option that
shows number making sense to me. This option is named "Include Gains and
Losses". I don't know why it is not activated by default, nor what is the
purpose of that option, but I do know I'm much happier when it's on :-)
