Not necessary to hand edit the data file. At least on Linux.

Go to the main *account* tab. For each *
account* in the tree under the "*root*
*account*" go to "edit *
account*" and in the "parent *account*" scroll box
change whatever it is to "new top level *
account*" (at the top of the
scroll). This will move the *account* and all of it's sub-*
account*s to top
level. Do this only for *account*s you want to be new top-level *account
*s
(which they used to be).

This will fix both auto-complete and the registry enteries without
having to hand tool each line.

If you do that for all of the *
account*s under "*root* *account*" you can,
once it is completely empty, delete the
*account* "*root* *account
*" without
ill effect.

As always, try it on a backup, first.
