others have already answered your question sufficiently. But I want to
point out:

I assume you are talking about the file-lock warning. Use caution here
because you're opening the same file twice which is a problem. Make
sure to use the command line method of selecting the proper account so
you don't have this problem. Personally, I just changed my launcher to
gnucash --nofile
so that it allows me to select the file I want instead of waiting for
possibly the wrong file to open and rendera ll its reports before
moving to the correct one.
