Upgrade Gotchas? (Especially FreeBSD)

Hi,

	I'm still running 1.8, and will begin inputting
the next year only on 2.2.X . I remember an issue with
ONE of the libraries that if you went past a certain
version, instead of taking 10 seconds to start up, it
took over a minute. (Something like g-wrap or slib or
guile or something like that).

	Does that still hold?  Are there any 
(others) for this release?
