Trading accounts: Buy of stock noted in foreign currency

It seems that I need some help to set up the following transaction in 
terms of trading accounts:

EUR: Main currency
USD: Foreign currency
ABC: stock noted in USD

Having a bank account in USD, shares of the stock ABC are bought. Using 
the technique of trading accounts, I am always ending up with a trading 
account for ABC.

I assume this shouldn't happen if GnuCash makes all the work to 
determine the unrealized gains of ABC, should it?
