I agree with Derek. The GnuCash QIF importer won't create accounts unless
they are actually used by transactions in the QIF. In other words, a QIF
file consisting solely of a chart of accounts will be ignored.

When you begin importing the QIF files that actually contain transactions,
the accounts will be created as you go along.

Regarding the QIF content that you posted above, I'm confused as to why we
are talking about gnucashtoqif and about exporting a chart of accounts from
GnuCash. Were you just attempting to see what an exported chart of accounts
should look like in QIF format? Just to eliminate any confusion, the goal is
to have all data eventually going FROM Quickbooks TO GnuCash, correct?
