Clipboard bug?

Assume I have an account register open with multiple transactions in it,
displayed in Transaction Journal mode. Suppose I want to enter an identical
memo in all of the transactions in that register, and in other registers as
well (e.g., "Entered in 2008 tax return"). I enter the memo text in the
appropriate split in the first transaction, select it, and 'Copy'. I can
then 'Paste' it into splits in the subsequent transactions in the register.
But if I go to a different account, 'Paste' is available on the Edit menu
('Cut' and 'Copy' are greyed out, which says to me that Gnucash thinks
there's something on the clipboard), but if I try to paste to the memo field
of a split in this new register, I get nothing, no text pasted. If I repeat
what I did in the first account register, then it works in the the new one.

Here's an interesting wrinkle: if I type the text into an Open Office text
document and copy it, then what is on the clipboard persists as it should;
in other words, I can paste into split memo fields in multiple account
registers.

It seems obvious that this is a bug, but thought before I enter it, I'd
mention it here. It appears not to be in the bug database.
