Upgrading from GnuCash 1.8.9 to 2.0

Hello,

I'm a long time user of GnuCash and love it! I've searched the 
documentation and help and am not finding answers to this question. I'm 
sure the upgrade will go fine but I want to 100% confirm because the 
thought of loosing my data is unthinkable.

I've done an export of my 1.8.9 data. Can I just update my machine to 
the latest stable release and then import my data in or do I need to 
upgrade in steps (i.e. 1.8.10, 1.8.11, 1.8.12, 2.0, etc)?
