Stock price updates

I didn't understand the section on "automatic" price updates.  Please clarify if you can.  I don't ever want the software trying to communicate with the internet unless I specifically trigger it.  I do not want price updates per a time/date schedule, nor automatically when I open GnuCash.  I would like to be able to download prices when I manually trigger the function.  Is this possible?  If so, how?
