Kmy Money vs. GnuCash

For what it's worth, I did install kmymoney recently (somebody in here
had said how good its reports are) and had a brief play.  However, the
first thing I noticed was that neither the register nor the reports
seemed to show my accounts hierarchy (which is nested to 5 or 6 levels)
properly, so I gave up pretty much straight away.  My only other
impression of it was that it had a slightly more prettified look than
gnucash, but frankly I count functionality and known reliability way
above cosmetics.

That said, there seem to me to be some aspects of the gnucash user
interface that could bear some tidying up, at least in the Windows
iteration, and the product would IMHO be much improved were these
relatively small matters resolved..
