investment portfolio report error

When I try to generate an Investment Portfolio report all I get is:
"Report error
An error occurred while running the report."

I've tried different accounts, which I know have shares or money in them.

Advanced Portfolio does work, however the 1st time I ran it I got the 
same error when it had the default selection of accounts.  When I 
selected fewer accounts it worked.  No such luck with the Investment 
Portfolio report.
