RE-installing Gnucash

Dear all,

 

My laptop recently just stopped working, no power up. So i pull out my old laptop and re-load gnucash. When i try to import the most recent log from my back up hard drive the system refuses and indicates that there is a bug. I have scanned everything with AVG which gives me the all clear. How can i import the old logs onto a new loaded gnucash? 

 

Your help would be greatly appreciated.
