MacPort build error gnome-desktop

I too (OS X 10.4.11, powerpc) had a difficult time last year, but eventually
got a working gnucash 2.2.1 from Macports.

I tried updating, no luck, so, as you did, I wiped out /opt/local and
started again last weekend, firdt time through I got a different error (a
Macports circular dependencies problem which was fixed within 24 hrs), so I
wiped out /opt/local again and tried again and came to your same error.

I then followed the suggestion on the discussion referenced in Joel
Thibault's reply <http://trac.macports.org/ticket/16720> and using the
custom portfile (now at the top of the page), which is a slightly earlier,
non-buggy release of gnome-desktop, installation was successful, and I now
have a working gnucash 2.2.8 on my 10.4.11 powerbook.Instructions on how to
use a "custom portfile" are on Macports documentation page and are very
clear.
