Problems selecting text and cutting and pasting

Uninstalling and reinstalling to run under X as opposed to using  
quartz resolved the issue and all keyboard shortcuts work properly.  
Also when it was running with quartz I "could" actually select text  
with the mouse, but there was a ear 10 second delay. Anyway, going  
back to running it under X11 works perfectly fine.
