File Restoration

I recently saved my data file to a new file name and have entered data 
in the new file.  Now when ever I reboot the computer and open Gnucash 
it opens the old file.  If I am working on the new file and save it, 
then close Gnucash, and reopen Gnucash without rebooting it will open 
with the new file.  How do I fix this so it always opens to the recently 
used file?
I am using version 2.2.9 on Windows XP.
