Downloaded QIF from bank not being imported.

I get this error.

"Line 1: File does not appear to be in QIF format: D07/16/2009
Read aborted."

Is there a way to edit it so Gnucash recognizes the file?  One would assume
the bank is generating a valid QIF file but in looking at it I have no way
to know what is not working on import to Gnucash.

I have these options from my bank.

QIF
CSV
And two versions of Quickbooks for web access accounts.

I don't see any option to import a standard comma delimited file so guess
QIF error is what needs fixed.
