Essentially you are raising the issue of accommodating people who are
coming to GnuCash from the Windows culture.  If they have already
converted from Windows to Linux they may now be adapting or have already
adapted to the Linux culture.

If however they are continuing with a "mixed" system -- Windows
operating system but using some applications originally developed in the
context of the Linux culture -- they will be exposed to the Linux way
with respect to those applications.  It that  case they will need
re-education.

This issue is properly one which logically should be resolved -- and a
consensus thereon reached -- in the context of determining the audiences
both for GnuCash itself and its documentation -- my question number one
in my post of 2009-06-17 at 15:12 eastern daylight time North
America.
