GNUCASH 2.2.9 WINDOWS XP SP2 DEAD!

Unfortunately I'm going to have to take the "cop out" solution, and say
"it's running on windows, and bugger knows how to do that"

I tried following all the instructions for compiling it using the install.sh
script, but it's running into errors trying to install GMP, and I know
precious little enough to understand what the errors mean, and what the
problem might be (and don't want to bore this entire group with my issues).
