No.  There is no "collapse all nodes" nor is there an "expand all nodes"

Yes, click on the [+] and it will collapse the whole subtree under the
node.  There is no "expand all"

What do you mean "select/de-select a subtree".  You can select the top
of the tree and then shift-click on the bottom of the tree, but I
believe that will un-select everything outside the tree.  So in short,
no, I don't think there's something close to what you're asking for.

Sure.. Send in a patch that implements it.

Control-Click is your friend.
