Finance::Quote installed and working, but investment account doesn't update

Hello, I would appreciate any advice that the forum can offer. I have GnuCash
2.2.9 installed on a pc running WinXP/SP3. I am trying to get GnuCash
configured for automatic retrieval of stock prices. I have installed Perl,
apparently successfully: Using Amazon stock as an example, Finance : Quote
runs and updates the Amazon stock price in the Price Editor. However, the
values in the Amazon investment account I created do not update, either in
the individual account or in the main accounts tab (I have set the latter to
display total values). It seems like the Price Editor is not passing stock
values into the Amazon account, as I assume that it is meant to do. I have
tried this several times, with several different (US) stocks, with the same
result. I presume I am doing something dumb somewhere - can anyone shed any
light? Does it matter that my primary accounts are in GBP, while the Amazon
stock is in USD?
The steps I took are as follows:
1) Create new stock in security editor
2) Add new stock to Price editor
3) Create new Amazon Account using the "New" command in Brokerage Account /
Stock, populate with 100 shares at a value of 1
4) Invoke "Get Quotes" in Price Editor, which does update the price there
5) Return to main Accounts tab - value not updated
Thanks for any help,
Tom
