GC 2.3.7 in Karmic Kubuntu

I agree it is a bit odd as all the files are in my home directory and I 
did ./configure --enable-dbi without using sudo.  Also, I did the same 
compile on two computers one I had to use sudo make and the other I 
didn't.  Of course, I needed to use sudo make install on both.
