On further research it turns out to be a gtk+ bug that was fixed between 2.16.2 (used for Gnucash-2.2.9) and 2.18.2 (used for Gnucash-2.3.7). When I get the multiple-window appmenu bug fixed in ige-mac-integration I'll create a new 2.2.9 build with the updated libraries.
