GnuCash Budget

Hi
Like many others I am looking for an alternate to MS Money, which I have used for years.
I have looked at more than two dozen other programs and finally landed up with GnuCash which appears to be able to fit all my requirements.
I have successfully set up the accounts including 'scheduled transactions', but I am getting stuck with setting up the cash flow budget.
File -> New -> New budget so far so good
Options -> Every month -> 12 periods
Now I am supposed to get columns, but all I am getting is a long blue bar and when I click on this bar I get the account. No option for entering the amounts.
I have reinstalled my GnuCash version 2.3.3. I have also done the old trick of restaring the PC. Neither helped.
If I need to download a fresh copy please advise where I can find version 2.3.5.for a download?
I would appreciate your advice.
