1. Please remember to cc the gnucash-user list (reply to all works fine) since this makes the information freely available if others have the issue (it also means that others might know an answer where someone who originally responded does not).

It appears to have exactly your issue (doing a google for gnucash connects to internet)

Perhaps your firewall is "mis-reporting" if not, can you tell us what IP address it's trying to connect to, are you sure it's an internet address (vs a local address).
