Glenn,

Sorry I had forgotten that I also got this error when I attempted to install
Activeperl 5.8 so I downloaded and installed 5.10 which installed without
the date errors.

Regards Dave.

Re: Install Online Price Retrieval

I down loaded ActivePerl 5.8.9.827 and using install.bat, installed the
software. I use gnuCash 2.2.9 and the "Install Online Price Retrieval" does
state that ActivePerl 5.8 is required.

After ActivePerl installation, a computer restart and choosing "Install
Online Price Retrieval" I got the attached screen. I am using a Windows 7,
a 64 bit computer and I installed the 64 bit version of ActivePerl
5.8.9.827.

The procedure to accomplish this feature will intimidate a large number of
gnuCash users. The install procedure takes the user to the command screen
on the computer and the gui is not clear on the inputs required to proceed.
And it didn't work.

Hopefully, the next version of gnuCash will utilize ApplePerl 5.12 which has
a familiar install procedure. gnuCash 2.2.9 doesn't like this version of
ApplePerl.

This for info purposes. No more help required. I am going to wait until
this feature is easier to implement.

Thanks again for the inputs.

Glenn
