Hi, welcome to the list.

Hmm, odd.  Is the account type correctly set as an expense account?
(From the "accounts" tab, select an account, then click "Edit" toolbutton, 
"Account Type" is in the bottom left corner of the dialogue box)

What happens if you let GC create the "unknown" account?
