Gnucash on OSX -- how computer novice friendly?

Of course you're right, John. .gnucash is a folder. I wrote too fast and was
careless with my terminology. But I also have a .gnucash_bak folder on my
disk. It seems to date from 2008, so I don't remember how it got there.
Thanks for amplifying my suggestion. I don't have banking set up on my
computer, so I didn't know that a .banking folder would be present.
