I love GnuCash's data input interface. The main objective of inputting
all the data though is getting them out and therefore
reporting is one of the most important features for me.

Another tool which is great for creating reports is the search
facility. Reports can be created and saved from the search results.

That and the Transaction Reports give me almost anything I need.

However, I find there are two major drawbacks at the moment:

1) custom reports with similar names get overwritten
(https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=447339). As you can
imagine, one would like to create reports "P&L 2009", "P&L 2010", ...

2) The fact that amending a current search and "Refine current
search" (and "Add results to current search" / "Delete results from
current search" for that matter) is not possible really puts me off
creating complex searches.

If 1) + 2) were working Gnucash reporting would be close to perfect.
