Beginner problem

Hi Folks,

I'm on Ubuntu 10.04, 64 bit running Gnucash 2.2.9

In reporting, if I go for Income and Expense reports and choose one of the 
graphical reports, (say, expense pie chart for example) I get, 

Expense Accounts:
No accounts selected 
This report requires accounts to be selected. 

Despite trying to select some accounts from the list, nothing sticks. Even if 
I tell it to select all the accounts.

I've had a search for the error in the bugs list but can't find anything, so it 
is probably something I'm not doing right.
