aqbanking crashes during setup

OK. That's likely the problem.
Find /Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app and open it.
At the prompt, type the following commands:
rm -rf .banking
rm -rf .gnucash
quit
Then quit Terminal and try GnuCash again.
