Report customization nightmare

Hi,

I have chose to use GNUCASH to perform my personal bookkeeping 4 months ago.
I'm really happy with the user interface, the transaction key in method, the
double entry system, the online quote price, the
windows/linux interoperability, and many other features. But I have found
reports customization really hard to manage.

This part is not really documented. As recommended, I have read the FAQ, the
wiki, read some Scheme documentations, read source code of reports, try to
modify one and load it as user report. I have found some tricks and advices
in this mailing list archive. But the core of the system remains
mysterious. I still have to understand how API is working. Scheme code is
very short. I guess this makes using it difficult.

It appears that customizing the report system is quite impossible for non
scheme coder. May be there is somewhere a comprehensive documentation that
would help me, but I haven't found it.

I would like to get account total per property in a pivot table with
following chart of accounts:

Incomes
 - Property 1
   - Loan
   - Other profits
 - Propery 2
  - Loan
  - Other profits
Expenses
   - Property 1
      - Bank interest
      - Maintenance
      ..
   - Property 2
      - Maintenance

How should I do?

Thanks in advance for your comments.
