password protection?

There is no password protection in gnucash.  The designers feel that an application should do one thing well, and security is not the purpose of gnucash.  They do suggest that you might try some encryption software to ward off inquisitive eyes.  Try http://www.truecrypt.org/.  It's slightly less convenient than Quicken, but you can use it for other things you wish to protect.  Its quite powerful.

whatever.
