It's true that the dividends are income, but I have chosen to treat
dividends from tax-deferred accounts in a separate account. This way they go
on my Income Statement, but I know I'm not going to get a Form 1099.

For example:
Income
Investment Income
Capital Gain/(Loss)
Dividend
Interest
Investment Income (Tax-Deferred)
Capital Gain/Loss
Dividend
Interest

Assets
401(k)
Uninvested Cash
Mutual Fund A
Mutual Fund B
Mutual Fund *n*
