I cannot select today as date

There's an open bug (https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=598788) with similar symptoms. What operating system are you using? Does tomorrow work? How about 18 Oct 2009 and 16 Oct 2011 (the third Sunday in October in those years)? What happens if  you use the + and - keys to move through the dates?

Can you install 2.3.15 and test that as well?
