Check your currencies? This often happens if qif thinks the import currency is different than your existing account currencies. What is your locale currency? What are the account currencies?

Subject: "Import QIF: Name Conflict with another account" problem still around
To: "Users Gnucash" <gnucash-user at gnucash.org>, <gnucash-devel at gnucash.org>

Hi, guys.

When importing my QIF from my bank (as I do since always), the import runs
without problems, but my transactions are imported into new accounts named
Bank2, Money2, Liabilities2 and so on, with "Import QIF: Name Conflict with
another account" as description.

It never happened before.

Searching the list's archives, I've found a message from 2005 about the same
problem:
http://lists.gnucash.org/pipermail/gnucash-user/2005-June/014075.html

Aparently the problem still exists in 2010, in GC 2.2.9 :(

Just to let you know.

Thanks.
