I always use the double-line mode and enter notes. If I have a split
transaction I choose the "Split Transaction" option for just that
transaction. I don't do a lot of reports except at tax time, so it was
only when I was considering one or my expense reports that I discovered
that the "Notes" weren't getting picked up for the report because they
were being trumped by a "memo" that was left over from long ago in the
"Basic Ledger/Double Line"mode.

Apparently if there is not such ghost memo, the notes entry gets picked
up for the report, which is why I haven't had this problem with some
other reports.

Just did some experimentation. If I do a split transaction with a memo
and then, for the next transaction, choose "Remove transaction splits",
the next transaction, in Basic Ledger mode, seems to take the "note"
properly and include it in the report properly. So maybe my problem was
a one-time flukey thing. I'll need to do more experimenting. At least
nopw I know what to be aware of.

Thanks for the various inputs.
