French menus in Mac OSX 2.4.5

How could I get the menus in french in the 2.4.5 release ?
(I downloaded the following
http://freefr.dl.sourceforge.net/project/gnucash/gnucash%20%28stable%29/2.4.5/Gnucash-Intel-2.4.5.dmg
and there are no language options to pick from)

In the GtkOSXApplication.strings inside the fr.lproj folder only 4/5 items
are filled, if I change them it changes the menus accordingly, but I can't
add other menus to the list (and that is most probably what one would
expect)

I also tried to install via MacPorts but it failed in many areas and I
wouldn't like to get too deeper into this, as my main purpose is to evaluate
GNUCASH (and if satisfactory I would then install it on a PC for someone to
work with it but it'll have to be wholly french then).
