Resizing the Balance Column for Mutual Funds

I am trying to learn to changing the balance width of my accounts. Trying to
find out where can I find the "gconf" file that you were saying? Tried my
gnucash application but there is no file with that name.
I am using MacOsx 10.5.8, Gnucash 2.4.4 . I am a newbbie user.
