Problem opening a new file

Hi,

I'm running Gnucash 2.4.5 on Vista. When I try to open a new account (using
the instructions in the 'Simple Example' in the manual) the window with the
Account Name, Account Code, etc. does not open. A new 'Account' tab opens,
but I cannot figure out a way to name the account, etc. The Edit Account
option seems to give me no response. How do I get the window with the
"Account Name", "Account Code", etc.?
