We're talking about the register display, correct? Are these stored prices or the calculated price when you enter a new txn?

Can you provide an example (e.g., bought 100 AAPL at 345 for 34500, entered 100 shares and 34500 but the price stayed at 1 and the total was recalculated to 100).
