Upgrading from 2.2.9 to 2.4.0 on Snow Leopard.

After I upgraded to 2.4.0 on Mac OS, upon starting I get the  notification:



I go through the setup with any number of options and always end up with the error similar to:



Then GnuCash starts and seems to operate normally.  Any ideas on how to correct this?  I haven't found any thread dealing with this and haven't found anything in the FAQ.
