Customer reports (statements) formatting when exported

I have upgraded from 2.2.9 to 2.4.0. When I create a customer report and then export it, the resulting HTML file does not contain " " in the empty cells of the table. The report has empty cells on the first "balance" line, and on any payment lines. When you open the html file with a browser, the empty cells display without any borders. This makes the report look strange, particularly if you print it to send to a customer. This did not occur under 2.2.9.
Also, when exporting a report (statement, invoice, whatever), it would be nice if you removed the links. These links look like <a href="gncCustomer:customer-0345.."> These links aren't understood by the browser, so when you click on them you get an error. If you email the report to a customer, they get confused. If you print the report, the links print as blue underlined, which is also confusing. This occurs in both 2.2.9 and 2.4.0.
The new invoice reports, when exported, are nicely formatted so the return address and customer address are placed appropriately for double-window envelopes. It would be nice if customer reports were formatted similarly at the top.
Thanks,
Don
