GnuCash 2.4 will not load

Installed 2.4 last week and it worked fine.  Now it will not open.  I get a
message stating:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library: This application has requested the
runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.  Please contact the applications
support team for more information.

I saw the other post about a firewall interfering with the startup of
GnuCash.  I turned off my firewall and tried to start GnuCash but got the
same error.

Any help VERY appreciated.
