multi users data merging? phone app data merging?

Has anyone figured out a workflow where one person, (bookkeeper),
can get busy doing reconciles, while sales and expenses are still being recorded?
If so, what do you do to merge that data together?

Supposing you could export data as a QIF, (Cash2QIF)...  How would you
export only in a date range?  Or is it best to do that with some external-to-gnucash
text processing?

I would want to avoid outputting data from a phone app farther back than the date of
the last QIF import so the import merge reconciling would be simple and quick.

Does anyone send their data file to a bookkeeper, then merge it back in
after doing more sales?
